I managed to read one book this weekend. I finished Kiss At Your Own Risk by Stephanie Rowe which I reviewed yesterday. It's up on the blog.

Review Meridian by Amber Kizer

Meridian (Fenestra, #1)

Goodreads Blurb:Half-human, half-angel, Meridian Sozu has a dark responsibility.
Sixteen-year-old Meridian has been surrounded by death ever since she can remember. As a child, insects, mice, and salamanders would burrow into her bedclothes and die. At her elementary school, she was blamed for a classmate’s tragic accident. And on her sixteenth birthday, a car crashes in front of her family home—and Meridian’s body explodes in pain.
Before she can fully recover, Meridian is told that she’s a danger to her family and hustled off to her great-aunt’s house in Revelation, Colorado. It’s there that she learns that she is a Fenestra—the half-angel, half-human link between the living and the dead. But Meridian and her sworn protector and love, Tens, face great danger from the Aternocti, a band of dark forces who capture vulnerable souls on the brink of death and cause chaos.

Aghh Ranting Post. To lend a book or not to lend a book?

Ok so this is pretty much going to be a ranting post. A couple of months ago a friend of mine asked me if she could borrow my The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare and in return she said I could borrow whatever I wanted. So I figure she only lives literally 3 doors down from me, I know where she lives why not?

Yea well that didn't exactly go the way I thought it would. In the time it took her to read 3 books I read 15 of hers. Every time I went over to her house to ask if she was done because I really wanted my books back she told me she wasn't even finished the first book. Seriously? She had my books for 4 months. Tell me you cannot read 3 books in 4 months? And when I went back and finally had to lie to get my books back by telling her my sister wanted to borrow them, she couldn't find them. One of my books was stuck under her couch. Ohh I almost had a heart attack.

Now I know not everyone cares what condition their books are in but I do. I have an OCD problem with my books being in like new condition. And its just plain disrespectful not to take care of something that you  borrowed from someone, even if that is not how you would take care of it if you owned it. Now I would totally understand if there was some tragedy or some unavoidable issue but there wasn't.

Because of this unfortunate one time experience I will most likely never lend out a book again which is horrible but they are way to expensive and I just enjoy them too much to loose them or have something happen to them or for them to get damaged.

So my question to you is am I feeling overly sensitive about this? or was it really disrespectful and ridiculous for her to have 3 books for 4 months and to not even had finished reading the 1st?

Do you lend out your books? or are you now like me and refuse to?

Review Wondrous Strange by Lesley Livingston

Wondrous Strange (Wondrous Strange, #1)

Goodreads Blurb:
17 year-old Kelley Winslow doesn’t believe in Faeries. Not unless they’re the kind that you find in a theatre, spouting Shakespeare—the kind that Kelley so desperately wishes she could be: onstage, under lights, with a pair of sparkly wings strapped to her shoulders. But as the understudy in a two-bit, hopelessly off-off-Broadway production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, wishing is probably the closest she’s going to get to becoming a Faerie Queen. At least, that’s what she thinks... In this fun, urban fantasy, Kelley's off-stage life suddenly becomes as complicated as one of Shakespeare’s plot twists when a nighttime trip to Central Park holds more than meets the mortal eye.

Cover Reveals

I don't usually do cover reveals.. but then again I have been participating in a lot of meme's and things that I don't normally so I guess we will ignore this for now lol

Ok so I have 2 great cover reveals I bet most of you have seen these already but maybe not lol

First we have Jessica's Rules The Darkside (book 2 the sequel to Jessica's Guide To Dating On The Darkside) by Beth Fantaskey
Jessica Rules the Dark Side (Jessica, #2)

2nd we have Supernaturally by Kiersten White ( sequel to Paranormalcy)

3 The Girl In The Steel Corset ( Steampunk Chronicles 1)  by Kady CrossThis cover is Gorgeous I just had to share
The Girl in the Steel Corset (The Steampunk Chronicles, #1)

Sad to say my time here will be less ;(

Ok I don't know if I have done a post about this yet. It is not book related in the slightest, that's probably why I haven't lol. I recently was hired full time for a very large telemarketing company. This is amazing for the following reasons.
1. More Pay
2. Time to myself
3.Benefits for my children
4. Will not go insane
5 Can actually speak with adults :)

This is not amazing for the following reasons.
1. Less Reading Time
2. Less Review Time
3 Less time chatting with my amazing internet buddies :) You all know who you are
4 Less time with my children even though this contradicts with some of the reasons in the above column but hey I am allowed to be conflicted lol!
5 I have to get up at 5 in the morning. Yes I said it 5. I have to be at work for 7 yuck.

So I just wanted to let you know that my time on here for now will be limited. But I plan to keep up my reading habits. I know there is technically less time to read but I plan on reading and reviewing the same amount of books that I have been. It's just going to take a week or so to adjust so for all of my faithful followers out there. If my posts become even less sporadic then they already are.. lol This is why!

Please bare with me. I love you all! :)

Waiting on Wednesday!

Now as most of you know. I don't usually participate in meme's except for follow Friday but unfortunately today I have nothing scheduled to post today :( I know Im working on it lol so I figured I would participate in this week's edition of Waiting on Wednesday hosting by Jill at Breaking The spine. So this week I am highly anticipating......

It's Valentines Day!!

I just thought that I would start by saying Happy Valentines Day! I hope you and your significant other have a wonderful day. Or if you are single you can celebrate Single Awareness Day. Lol i am not sure if this is going to catch on but a single girlfriend of mine told that is what she will be celebrating today!

Happy Valentines day to you and your loved ones!

Review Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare

Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1)Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
Release Date: August 31 2010
Publisher: Margaret K McElderly Books
Format: Hardcover
Pages:479
Genre: Steampunk/YA/Supernatural
Series: Infernal Devices (#1)
Source: Purchased

Goodreads Synopsis:
When sixteen-year-old Tessa Gray crosses the ocean to find her brother, her destination is England, the time is the reign of Queen Victoria, and something terrifying is waiting for her in London's Downworld, where vampires, warlocks and other supernatural folk stalk the gaslit streets. Only the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the world of demons, keep order amidst the chaos.

Kidnapped by the mysterious Dark Sisters, members of a secret organization called The Pandemonium Club, Tessa soon learns that she herself is a Downworlder with a rare ability: the power to transform, at will, into another person. What's more, the Magister, the shadowy figure who runs the Club, will stop at nothing to claim Tessa's power for his own.

Friendless and hunted, Tessa takes refuge with the Shadowhunters of the London Institute, who swear to find her brother if she will use her power to help them. She soon finds herself fascinated by--and torn between--two best friends: James, whose fragile beauty hides a deadly secret, and blue-eyed Will, whose caustic wit and volatile moods keep everyone in his life at arm's length...everyone, that is, but Tessa. As their search draws them deep into the heart of an arcane plot that threatens to destroy the Shadowhunters, Tessa realizes that she may need to choose between saving her brother and helping her new friends save the world...and that love may be the most dangerous magic of all.

My Thoughts:
There is something about Cassandra's world that draws me in and keeps me there submerged in the shadowhunter's and downworlder's unique and fascinating world. Clockwork Angel book 1 in the Infernal Device series is the prequel to Cassandra's The Mortal Instrument series.

Set in London 1878 Tessa Gray sets out from New York to London after her Aunt's passing, to live with her brother Nathaniel. The moment that Tessa steps off the Maine her life takes a drastic turn where nothing is what it seems. Her whole life she was made to believe that she was purely human but she quickly learns after her kidnapping by The Dark Sister's that she is something else entirely. Unknowingly caught up in the mystical world of the Downworlder's there is a higher power who has a personal interest in Tessa.

Will Herondale a Shadowhunter has been on a hunt for weeks when his investigation leads him to the home of the Dark Sisters. He comes across Tessa in his search for a missing human girl. Helping her escape the Dark Sister's house Tessa is brought to the institute for protection, until Will and the rest of the Shadowhunter's can figure out the Downworlder's would want with Tessa.

Will is a strong willed character who acts like he doesn't care about anything or anyone. It is one of his defense mechanisms to deal with a darker part of himself. Jem, Will's best friend is the total opposite of Will. He is kind hearted, generous and genuine. Jessamine one of two shadowhunters at the London Institute wants nothing more than to be a regular girl. Charlotte is the leader of the London Institute along with her husband Henry. Charlotte loves what she does but Henry would be quiet content to spend all of his days in his lab fiddling with his inventions and machines.

The relationship between Will and Tess is a predictable one. Bad boy with good girl. But there is a certain element to Will that makes me feel sympathetic to him. There is a little twist of Jem. He has feelings for Tessa but she does not realize this.

This is an amazing story of personal struggles and defeats and epic betrayal.  Clare has done it again. She has sucked me into her world and has made it so I never want to leave.
If you loved the Mortal Instruments series than you will not be disappointed in the least with Clockwork Angel.

It's Lazy Sunday.. What are you doing?

Ohh How I love my Lazy Sunday's... they don't really differ from any other day but I just like to give it a special title lol. Today I will be spending the day sporadically online and reading.

Watching my children run a muck lol. Hopefully I can get them to sit and watch a couple of movies but they are so long so that's probably not gonna happen lol.

It's Saturday

Ok so I have promised to be more interactive instead of just posting reviews. Well I haven't really kept up on my end of the bargain oops I know. But I also don't want to post anything if I don't have much to say. Well clearly you can tell that I don't have much to say right now haha.

Oh I will say that I am getting the hang of twitter though so that has been great. lol I know pointless and useless ramblings

So I am just going to wish everyone an amazing weekend and hopefully my brain will kick into gear at some point today and I will have something a little more meaningful to post lol!

Review Solid by Shelley Workinger

Solid (Solid, #1) by Shelley Workinger

Goodreads Blurb:
Teens who discover they were secretly genetically altered before birth are brought together at a classified site where they forge new friendships, find love, develop "super-abilities," and even unearth a conspiracy.

My Thoughts:

What if you discovered you were the product of a secret genetic experiment?

For Clio and a Hundred other kids who have lived a life bouncing around from one army base to another. being the new kid is something they are all used to. But finding out that you are the product of a secret experiment would make anyone feel out of place.

When the government found out that a rogue Army doctor had been experimenting with unknowing pregnant women they opened up a facility to see what kind of effects the experiment had on the children. Some expected them to not be totally normal but none expected them to have super human abilities.  But there are still secrets that are being held back from them.

What happens to the Phantom after the tragedy at the Paris Opera House is the basis for this fantastic tale of The Phantom Diaries, loosely based on Gaston Leroux's classic, The Phantom of the Opera, but with a new tale and a modern twist. This new series for older teens and young adults is told through the eyes of 18 year-old Annette Binoche, who lands a job at the New York Metropolitan Opera House as a seamstress' assistant only to become the lead singer of the Opera House, with the help of the mysterious, yet highly-seductive Phantom.

Review Succubus Blues by Richelle Mead

Succubus Blues (Georgina Kincaid, #1)

Goodreads Blurb:
Succubus (n.) An alluring, shape-shifting demon who seduces and pleasures mortal men. Pathetic (adj.) A succubus with great shoes and no social life. See: Georgina Kincaid.
When it comes to jobs in hell, being a succubus seems pretty glamorous. A girl can be anything she wants, the wardrobe is killer, and mortal men will do anything just for a touch. Granted, they often pay with their souls, but why get technical?

But Seattle succubus Georgina Kincaid's life is far less exotic. Her boss is a middle-management demon with a thing for John Cusack movies. Her immortal best friends haven't stopped teasing her about the time she shape-shifted into the Demon Goddess getup complete with whip and wings. And she can't have a decent date without sucking away part of the guy's life. At least there's her day job at a local bookstore--free books; all the white chocolate mochas she can drink; and easy access to bestselling, sexy writer, Seth Mortensen, aka He Whom She Would Give Anything to Touch but Can't.

Review Mojo by Kris Sedersten

Mojo

Goodreads Blurb:
When Scottie Brown, a New Orleans college student, is aggressively haunted by vivid nightmares and daytime apparitions, he begins a search for answers; unwittingly putting himself and those closest to him in a confrontation with evil. To defeat the energy that torments him, he recruits a team of paranormal investigators, friends from high school, and a psychic medium. Together, they pursue the ghosts of Scottie's ancestors in a haunted plantation deep in the Louisiana countryside. They uncover dark family secrets and the spiritual energy of a malevolent patriarch who projects an unholy prophecy that has deadly consequenes for all mankind. The power of an elusive mojo amulet becomes central to fighting Scottie's demons as the journey through the haunted mansion, filled with twists and turns, takes on a life of its own against time. Mojo is a fast-paced paranormal mystery-thriller. Edgy and fun, this book will show the reader how having faith in a power greater than ourselves will lift us through even the most unforseeable obstacles in life.

My Thoughts:
I really liked the plot of this story but the dialogue was not the greatest. I didn't really connect with any of the characters as much as I would have liked . I had no problem putting the book down for long periods of time. It didn't grab me like I was hoping it would have. It wasn't a horrible read though. The main plot of the story was extremely interesting. I loved Kris's view on what the Ghost Hunter's go through. The story was faced paced and was exciting from the first page to the last. Kris has great ideas that flow nicely together I just don't think she gave enough time to let us get to know her characters.  You can tell that Kris is not seasoned but I truly believe she has great potential. Like I said I loved the story and the plot, the dialogue put me off a little bit and I wasn't connected to the Characters but I am honestly looking forward to the second book. I need to know what happens to Scottie and the rest of the Ghost Hunter's.

I give this a 3/5 Hearts!
