Goodreads Synopsis:
A love out of time. A spaceship built of secrets and murder.
Seventeen-year-old Amy joins her parents as frozen cargo aboard the vast spaceship Godspeed and expects to awaken on a new planet, three hundred years in the future. Never could she have known that her frozen slumber would come to an end fifty years too soon and that she would be thrust into the brave new world of a spaceship that lives by its own rules.
Amy quickly realizes that her awakening was no mere computer malfunction. Someone-one of the few thousand inhabitants of the spaceship-tried to kill her. And if Amy doesn't do something soon, her parents will be next.
Now Amy must race to unlock Godspeed's hidden secrets. But out of her list of murder suspects, there's only one who matters: Elder, the future leader of the ship and the love she could never have seen coming.

My Thoughts:
Wow Beth did an amazing job with this story. I am not that into Sci-fi / dystopian but this novel was amazing. I loved Beth's adaptation on what would happen if we had to go in search of another planet. I honesty don't know what to say except that it was amazingly written.

I had no trouble falling into Beth's world aboard Godspeed. I feel so horrible for Amy. For a girl who didn't want to leave Earth in the first place to be stuck aboard a ship with people who think she's a freak. Amy starts to notice that things aren't quiet right with the people aboard Godspeed. She just doesn't realize how wrong things truly are.

Elder is the next in line to lead the people of Godspeed. He slowly uncovers lies and deception amongst his Leader. He goes out in search of the truth to find things are nothing as he has been told they are. Across the Universe is an amazing novel which captivated my attention from the first page to the last. It was one of those novels I couldn't put down even when I tried. Like I said this is not usually my genre of choice but it was great. Beth makes me want to read more.

I highly recommend that anyone who has not had the chance to read this yet go out and pick it up even if you don't usually read this type of novel like myself you will love it I almost guarantee it!
