Review Lover Mine by J.R Ward

Lover Mine (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #8)

Goodreads Blurb:
In the darkest corners of the night in Caldwell, New York, a conflict like no other rages. Long divided as a terrifying battleground for the vampires and their enemies, the city is home to a band of brothers born to defend their race: the warrior vampires of the Black Dagger Brotherhood.

John Matthew has come a long way since he was found living among humans, his vampire nature unknown to himself and to those around him. After he was taken in by the Brotherhood, no one could guess what his true history was- or his true identity. Indeed, the fallen Brother Darius has returned, but with a different face and a very different destiny. As a vicious personal vendetta takes John into the heart of the war, he will need to call up on both who he is now and who he once was in order to face off against evil incarnate.

Xhex, a symphath assassin, has long steeled herself against the attraction between her and John Matthew. Having already lost one lover to madness, she will not allow the male of worth to fall prey to the darkness of her twisted life. When fate intervenes, however, the two discover that love, like destiny, is inevitable between soul mates

My Thoughts:
OMFG!! Ok I love this series through and through. I think that JR is an amazing writer who can do unbelievable things with her words. I have loved each individual story but I have to say that Lover Mine is my favorite so far. I love John Matthews and his story. His relationship with Xhe is the most unorthodox even for vampires.

Xhe is a sympath and her kind isn't generally regarded amongst the vampires. They can use their emotions against them. Xhe was kidnapped by the enemy of the Brothers and it has been John's sole mission and reason for living to bring her back. As John and Xhe let their guards down they find out that they have more in common than they think. This book reveals a lot and answered a lot of questions that I had from the previous books. I honestly laughed and cried through the whole book. Literal tears were streaming down my face as both John and Xhe revealed themselves down to the very core. They opened up to each other in every way imaginable. Both physically and emotionally.

This was the best 600 pages I have ever read. The book flips back and forth between the present with John Matthew and the brothers to the past of Darius. Seriously if you have not picked up J.R Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series you are missing out on an amazing story of love, life  and family.  J.R has a way of making me feel like I am right there with the brothers. I Cannot wait the release of Lover Unleashed the next installment of the brothers story

I give this a 5/5 hearts!

  2. I didn't read too much of your review, because I haven't read this one and don't ask me why because I haven't a clue why I have put off JM's book because I love him so much. But glad you loved it maybe now I will finally get to it especially before Payne's book comes out.
