Goodreads Synopsis:
The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi pure-bloods have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures.

Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:

Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden.

Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.

My Thoughts:

I honestly don't know what I can say about Half-Blood except that it was amazing. Jennifer has this amazing way of sucking me into the story and making it so I never wanted to leave. I absolutely could not get enough of this amazing book. The character's were amazingly developed and I had no problem falling in love with all of them.

The story line was action packed and I don't think I got bored once. Nope not once. The writing style and the story line was great. The pain that Alex suffer's comes across in waves. The internal struggles that Alex and Aiden face were believable and it their relationship made the story great.

I love that Half-Blood had a lot of mythological references. It was a nice change from the normal supernatural reads. It was a nice change of pace and I loved that the main character's were strong and independent but also vulnerable.

I absolutely loved Half-Blood I really did and I was disappointed when it ended. Jennifer is a great author and I cannot wait to read more of her work in the future. I am extremely excited for Pure the second novel in the Covenant series.

I Give this 5/5 Hearts!

  2. For me, it's not even just them as a romance pair that I love, but them individually. You can't help , but respect Alex for speaking her mind and standing up for herself no matter who she is telling off, and Aiden, you can't help, but well drool over him. I am sorry, but seriously this guy is perfet.
