Goodreads Synopsis:

For three years, Alexandria has lived among mortals—pretending to be like them and trying to forget the duty she'd been trained to fulfill as a child of a mortal and a demigod. At seventeen, she's pretty much accepted that she's a freak by mortal standards... and that she'll never be prepared for that duty.

According to her mother, that’s a good thing.

But as every descendent of the gods knows, Fate has a way of rearing her ugly head. A horrifying attack forces Alex to flee Miami and try to find her way back to the very place her mother had warned her she should never return—the Covenant. Every step that brings her closer to safety is one more step toward death… because she's being hunted by the very creatures she'd once trained to kill.
The daimons have found her.

My Thoughts:
Daimon was a great prequel read. A nice short story that gives you more of an insight into the story of Half-Blood. Definitely a great opener for the series.

Daimon starts off with Alex and her Mother. It tells the story of what happens right before she gets back to the Covenant. If you want to read Half-Blood definitely pick up Daimon because it will give you a little more insight into Alex and her Mother while they were on the run.

It will also make you want to read Half-Blood all the more! I loved Half-Blood and read Daimon after I read Half-Blood. But if I were to have read Daimon first I would have been dying for Half-Blood. Jennifer L Armentrout is an extraordinary author with an amazing talent of sucking her readers into her world and making it so we never want to leave. I was sad that Daimon was so short I know that it was a prequel but I love Jennifer's character's so much that for every minute I get to spend with them is just another great minute of reading!

I Give This 5/5 Hearts!

  2. Daimon was a quick read; the actual story is about 60 pages. I don't think it is necessary to read before Half-Blood, but it will definitely help understand the world of Pures and Half-Bloods and will give you a sneak-peek of the awesome story that is to come. I know this isn't much of a review, but I wanted to recommend anyone who was thinking about starting the Covenant series to read this first.
