1st Ever Review: Kiss Of Midnight

Ok guys so this is my first review so take it easy on me :D

Kiss of Midnight is Book 1 in Lara Adrians A Midnight Breed Series.
Back Jacket overview:

"He watches her from across the crowded dance club, a sensual black-haired stranger who stirs Gabrielle Maxwell's deepest fantasies. But nothing about this night-or this man- is what it seems. For when Gabrielle witnesses a murder outside the club, reality shifts into something dark and deadly. In that shattering instant she is thrust into a realm she never knew existed- a realm where vampires stalk the shadows and a blood war is set to ignite.
Lucan Thorne despises the violence carried out by his lawless brethren. A vampire himself, Lucan is a Breed warrior, sworn to protect his kind- and the unwitting humans existing alongside them- from the mounting threat of the Rogues. Lucan cannot risk binding himself to a mortal woman, but when Gabrielle is targeted by his enemies, he has no choice but to bring her into the dark underworld he commands.
Here, in the arms of the Breed's formidable leader, Gabrielle will confront an extraordinary destiny of danger, seduction and the darkest pleasures of all..."

This book was sexy and evocative. A world where every woman wants to go. The relationship between Gabriell and Lucan is a relationship that is to be expected. But it is sexy and riviting nonetheless. Gabrielle is totally unaware of this world that she is being sucked into whether she likes it or not. Even without witnessing the brutal murder she would have been drawn into their world one way or another. You see Gabrielle is a Breedmate a select group of human females who bare a birthmark or a teardrop of a crescent moon. This birthmark signifies that they have the genes to keep the vampire race alive.
I absolutely loved this book. I had read J.R Wards Black Dagger Brotherhood series before I picked up Lara Adrians A Midnight Breed Series and at the very beginning the similarities between these two series was incredible. Both based on a group of warriors who are sworn to protect the vampire race. At first glance I thought that this series was just going to be a knockoff of J.R Wards BDB series but then as I read on further the story becomes its own and it is just amazing. I was very relieved when the story went on because I really wanted to enjoy it as its own and I didnt want to think of it as another BDB series. And I did enjoy it and once I got into it I could not put it down. Lara Adrian is an amazing author!
I recommend this Series to anyone who loves hard, masculine vampires. Who wants to be sucked into a sexy, dangerous world where you will feel protected by these warriors just by reading!! This series is not for anyone under 18 for the sexual content.
I give this book a 4/5
