Goodreads Synopsis
The year is 2009.  Nineteen-year-old Jackson Meyer is a normal guy… he’s in college, has a girlfriend… and he can travel back through time. But it’s not like the movies – nothing changes in the present after his jumps, there’s no space-time continuum issues or broken flux capacitors – it’s just harmless fun.

That is… until the day strangers burst in on Jackson and his girlfriend, Holly, and during a struggle with Jackson, Holly is fatally shot. In his panic, Jackson jumps back two years to 2007, but this is not like his previous time jumps. Now he’s stuck in 2007 and can’t get back to the future.

Desperate to somehow return to 2009 to save Holly but unable to return to his rightful year, Jackson settles into 2007 and learns what he can about his abilities.

But it’s not long before the people who shot Holly in 2009 come looking for Jackson in the past, and these “Enemies of Time” will stop at nothing to recruit this powerful young time-traveler.  Recruit… or kill him.

Piecing together the clues about his father, the Enemies of Time, and himself, Jackson must decide how far he’s willing to go to save Holly… and possibly the entire world.

My Thoughts:

I LOVED Tempest. This book was nothing at all like I expected it to be. I was not expecting the amount of action and the amount of on the edge of your seat suspense that came with Tempest.

Jackson was such a cute character. I think I fell in love with him just a little bit more as I continued to read. Jackson grew so much throughout this book, it was great to watch the transformation.

Jackson's love for Holly is so undeniably strong and it comes across the pages of this novel so clear. I couldn't believe that Holly's life was put in as much danger as it has been and all Jackson wants to do is keep that woman he loves safe. As Jackson travels back and forth through time is he actually making any progress saving Holly? Or is he just making it worse?

There are so many twists and turns to Tempest that Julie will keep you guessing until the very last page. This book has already received such high praise and it deserves every single one.

Tempest is a book that you are going to want to read. It is a must have for your shelves. You are not going to want to miss out on Jackson's adventure one bit! Julie is an exceptional author and she wrote an amazing book.

I Give This 5/5 Hearts!

  2. I did like the story and the fact that I finally got a book from a male perspective but part of this book was confusing. The time travel elements mostly made sense but there were a few confusing times throughout the novel. Plus I didn't like the ending! How could he do that to her!

Sigh this must be fixed with the second book otherwise I will be a very unhappy camper because I love Jackson and Holly together because their relationship feels so real.

    Thanks for the great review.
