Goodreads Synopsis:
Two days before the start of her junior year, seventeen-year-old Janelle Tenner is hit by a pickup truck and killed—as in blinding light, scenes of her life flashing before her, and then nothing. Except the next thing she knows, she's opening her eyes to find Ben Michaels, a loner from her high school whom Janelle has never talked to, leaning over her. And even though it isn't possible, she knows—with every fiber of her being—that Ben has somehow brought her back to life.

But her revival, and Ben's possible role in it, is only the first of the puzzles that Janelle must solve. While snooping in her FBI agent father's files for clues about her accident, she uncovers a clock that seems to be counting down to something—but to what? And when someone close to Janelle is killed, she can no longer deny what's right in front of her: Everything that's happened—the accident, the murder, the countdown clock, Ben's sudden appearance in her life—points to the end of life as she knows it. And as the clock ticks down, she realizes that if she wants to put a stop to the end of the world, she's going to need to uncover Ben's secrets—and keep from falling in love with him in the process.

From debut author Elizabeth Norris comes this shattering novel of one girl's fight to save herself, her world, and the boy she never saw coming.

My Thoughts:
Unraveling was not at all what I expected it to be. It was honestly so much better. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. There was so much suspense and anticipation throughout the entire book, that I just could not put it down.

I honestly loved the entire thing. I loved the relationship between Janelle and Ben. There was something so sweet and honest about them that it made the book seem a little more realistic.

As they try to figure out how to save the world, they come across knowledge that not even they expected to find. Janelle has a lot to deal with. Not only with her life at home but her new found life that she was sucked into.

I don't know how she coped with everything so well. But she was determined to make things right and to find out what happened to her. She doesn't expect to fall for Ben but the more his presence is in her life, she finds it harder and harder to stay away.

There were some extremely sad parts throughout the book and I will admit I openly cried. I became so invested in all of the character's and Elizabeth just sucked me right in to her story. This was a great Debut novel for Elizabeth!

This was a one sit read for me. I am not a big "sci-fi" fan, and I wouldn't really classify this as a sci-fi read but it had those elements and they were great and made it that much more interesting.

I loved Unraveling and I highly recommend this book.

  1. Wow, I'm so jealous you got to read this one already! It's been on my to-read list for a while so I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it so much. And that's good that it has a realistic relationship, a lot of YA seem to have the annoying instalove going out of control. The fact that it made you cry is awesome too. You know it's a good book when it can reach you like that. Thanks for the review! :)

    P.S. I'm a new follower here! *waves*
