Goodreads Synopsis:
In this apocalyptic sequel to Dark Inside’s “well-balanced, realistic suspense” (Kirkus Reviews), four teens continue the struggle for survival as they face a world gone mad.
Aries, Clementine, Michael, and Mason have survived the first wave of the apocalypse that wiped out most of the world’s population and turned many of the rest into murderous Baggers. Now they’re hiding out in an abandoned house in Vancouver with a ragtag group of fellow teen survivors, trying to figure out their next move.
Aries is trying to lead, but it’s hard to be a leader when there are no easy answers and every move feels wrong. Clementine is desperate to find her brother Heath, but it’s impossible to know where he’d be, assuming he’s alive. Michael is haunted by the memories of his actions during his harrowing struggle to survive. And Mason is struggling with something far worse: the fear that he may be a danger to his friends.

My Thoughts:
Such a great sequel to Dark Inside. Jeyn keeps the pace up with her dark and edgy plot line.
This is a great story. It is creepy and haunting. What happens when we let the dark inside of us out? What happens when we unleash all of those inner thoughts and give in to those inhibitions that our conscious would normally stop? Jeyn takes all these questions and throws them into this amazing book. I am a huge fan of books like this. I like it when you have to think about what the world would be like if we all lost our humanity.
I love the character's. They are easily relatable considering the circumstances. I really like how Jeyn writes in all the different POV's. It gives the story that much more perspective when you can see it from all the different vantage points.
I really enjoyed the story and I definitely cannot wait for it to continue. This is a series that I would recommend to anyone who likes the post apocolyptic, doomsday kind of stuff.
