Cassandra Clare Signing! And Possible Giveaway!

Hey guys! I just want to start off by saying that this time change has really messed me up. But besides that I had a wonderful weekend. I was able to attend the Cassandra Clare signing in Toronto Ontario yesterday. Yes I am lucky to say that I have officially met Cassandra Clare. She has been in an out of Toronto for the filming of City of Bones and as the filming wraps up in Toronto she decided to stay and meet some of her fans. And I am so happy to say that she is wonderful and so nice.
This was my first "major" author signing so I in all honesty I did not know what to expect. A friend and I drove two hours to Toronto and by the time we got there Chapters Indigo was packed with fans and I mean packed. There were hundreds of people waiting in line already. It was absolutely insane. So to say that I got there a too late would be an understatement.
The signing started at 2 and I was there at 1230 and with my understanding there were fans that had showed up at 930 in the morning. They were smart :)  It took hours before I was able to have my turn. By the time I was up it was 745 at night. She had stayed the entire time so everyone was able to have a chance. She was still signing the last groups as I was leaving.
When the event was originally posted they said that we could have all of our books signed by her, so I brought all my books and I even bought one to have signed to do as a giveaway. But obviously with the overwhelming amount of people being there, about two hours into the signing they changed it to only two books per person ( which is totally understandable, she would have been there all night if that was the case) But I was a little disappointed just for the fact that the first groups were able to get every book they brought with them signed and I saw some people with multiple copies of both series. It was a little unfair just because there were those of us who waited for hours and hours just to be able to have one set of each series signed and there were some who had the entire set of both series signed and then some. But I can say that even though they downed it to two books I was pleased with the signing overall.
So I was able to get two of my books signed. I had originally wanted one personalized and the other just signed so I could host a giveaway but during all the mayhem she ended up personalizing both books. :( So I have one paperback copy of Clockwork Angel that has been signed and personalized to myself. I would still love to give this one away if anyone is interested in receiving a copy even though it's been signed to me. If you would be interested just leave me a comment below :) If I have enough people who are interested I will post a second post with details. If there is a giveaway it will be available to anyone who lives in the US or Canada.

  2. Cool. :D I am somewhat relieved I didn't try to coax my parents into getting some of mine signed while I was at the Ontario Blog Squad Meet-up yesterday. They would have wanted to strangle me! I love signed books, though, and to actually meet the author too must have been awesome. :)

  3. Amazing blog! Do you have any recommendations for aspiring writers?
I'm planning to start my own blog soon but I'm a little lost on everything.
Would you propose starting with a free platform like Wordpress or
go for a paid option? There are so many options out
there that I'm completely confused .. Any ideas? Thank you!

  5. First off I want to say awesome blog! I had a quick question in which I'd like to ask if you do not mind. I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear your thoughts prior to writing. I have had a hard time clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out there. I truly do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally lost simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or tips? Thanks!
