Renovations
Hey guys. I am not sure if you guys have noticed but over the last couple of days I have been fiddling with the design of the blog. It has changed about 4 times in the last 3 days. I still haven't found exactly what I am looking for and it is extremely frustrating but I hope you will bare with me until I find something that is just right. Since I don't have the proper software to create my own I am getting my sister to help. Hopefully we can come up with something that is simple and clean but eye catching at the same time.
Thanks for hanging in there :)

Book Blog Organization. What the heck is that?
So I've been running this blog for 2 years and it still seems like I cannot maintain a proper post schedule. I feel like I am scrambling everyday to get a decent post up. I just put together some sort of outline of what I want to do everyday. How sad is that? Some days I feel like I have too much going on and then I will go weeks trying to rack my brain for ideas. Does this happen to any of you?

Cover Reveal and Giveaway: Forever My Girl by Heidi McLaughlin
Release: December 27th
Blurb:
I was never supposed to be a rock star. I had my life all planned out for me. Play football in college. Go to the NFL. Marry my high school sweetheart and live happily ever after.
I broke both our hearts that day when I told her I was leaving. I was young. I made the right decision for me, but the wrong decision for us. I’ve poured my soul into my music, but I’ve never forgotten her. Her smell, her smile.
And now I’m going back.
After ten years.
I hope I can explain that after all this time.
I still want her to be my forever girl.

ARC Review: Cinder by Marissa Meyer
Release Date: January 3 2012
Publisher: Feiwel and Friends
Format: ARC Paperback
Pages: 387
Genre: YA/Science Fiction/Dystopian
Series: The Lunar Chronicles (#1)
Source: Publisher
Goodreads Synopsis:
Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl. . . .
Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future.
My Thoughts:
Wow what an interesting concept! Such a mindblowing adventure. To be honest I received this book to review at the beginning of the year and I just cracked it open now. I wasn't all that thrilled with the concept but then I received Scarlet for review so I knew I had to give it a chance and I am so so glad I did. I feel quite ashamed that it took me this long to read this book because it was seriously amazing.
The concept was unique, the character's were fantastic and I felt genuinley connected with Cinder. I adored the whole thing. Marissa took a classic story and put such great twist to it. The entire book was great.
Such a modern retelling to one of my favorite stories as a child. Again I cannot believe it took me this long to read it. This was a one sitting read for me. Some people have an issue with re-tellings and I can understand why but if you write it like Marissa did there is no way that you cannot love it.
Cinder's relationship with Kai was bittersweet. I really fell in love with Iko as well. That android made me laugh so many times throughout the book. This story had all the main elements of the original with modern and not so modern differences that really spiced it up.
I don't normally give ratings anymore but this is a 5/5 for sure! If you are like me and haven't read this yet then go, run to your nearest book store and purchase a copy!

Review: Burn for Burn by Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian
Release Date: September 18 2012
Publisher: Simon and Schuster
Format: Hardcover
Pages:368
Genre: YA/Fiction
Series: Burn for Burn (#1)
Source: Purchased
Goodreads Synopsis:
BIG GIRLS DON'T CRY...
THEY GET EVEN.
Lillia has never had any problems dealing with boys who like her. Not until this summer, when one went too far. No way will she let the same thing happen to her little sister.
Kat is tired of the rumours, the insults, the cruel jokes. It all goes back to one person– her ex-best friend– and she's ready to make her pay.
Four years ago, Mary left Jar Island because of a boy. But she's not the same girl anymore. And she's ready to prove it to him.
Three very different girls who want the same thing: sweet, sweet revenge. And they won't stop until they each had a taste
My Thoughts:
Burn For Burn was an amazing read. This was a one sitting read for me. I loved how it was told in three different point of views. It made the book more dynamic and it also helped to understand each girls issues more clearly.
I loved the concept of them getting back at the people who have taunted them or who have made their lives that much more diffcult. Like high school isn't hard enough right?
But what happens when you realize that not everything is the way you thought it was? What happens if the people you were getting back at didn't do what you thought they did? But how far is too far?
This was one of those reads that is entertaining but also makes you think. I am definitely a fan of Jenny Han and Siohban Vivian. Their pairing made this book all that more enjoyable.
The relationships and friendships that stem out of this unlikely mashup of girls coming together to get back at their tormenters will bring these girls closer than they ever thought possible. Even if they didn't want to be.
But what happens next? I cannot wait for the story to continue! I thoroughly enjoyed Burn for Burn!

Hey guys! I just want to start off by saying that this time change has really messed me up. But besides that I had a wonderful weekend. I was able to attend the Cassandra Clare signing in Toronto Ontario yesterday. Yes I am lucky to say that I have officially met Cassandra Clare. Is death the end . . . or only the beginning?
Ethan Wate has spent most of his life longing to escape the stiflingly small Southern town of Gatlin. He never thought he would meet the girl of his dreams, Lena Duchannes, who unveiled a secretive, powerful, and cursed side of Gatlin, hidden in plain sight. And he never could have expected that he would be forced to leave behind everyone and everything he cares about. So when Ethan awakes after the chilling events of the Eighteenth Moon, he has only one goal: to find a way to return to Lena and the ones he loves.
Back in Gatlin, Lena is making her own bargains for Ethan's return, vowing to do whatever it takes -- even if that means trusting old enemies or risking the lives of the family and friends Ethan left to protect.
Worlds apart, Ethan and Lena must once again work together to rewrite their fate, in this stunning finale to the Beautiful Creatures series.
My Thoughts:
Gah I cannot believe it's over!! I am so sad to see this wonderful series end. I have fallen in love with these character's over the years. Kami and Margaret ended this series in the best and worst way. I do not want to put in any spoilers but I cried at the end I really did.
Ethan and Lena will stop at nothing to find the way to bring Ethan back to his family. Ethans journey in the Underworld is exciting and unpredictable. Lena will fight whoever she needs to to bring back her one true love.
I love the character's,the story and absolutely everything about this amazing series. Kami and Margaret have left a lasting impression on me with The Caster Chronicals. These will always be one of my favorite series. I know I will be visting them again and again.
